The Champions Committee has reviewed the current policy where diplomas issued to laureates would be replaced if they became lost, damaged, stolen, or otherwise destroyed.
From 20 December 2026 the committee will no longer issue replacement diplomas. In place of diplomas which become lost, damaged, stolen, or otherwise destroyed the committee will now issue a warrant. A warrant will be issued only if a previously issued diploma becomes lost, damaged, stolen, or otherwise destroyed.
Diplomas will have two copies, the original (given to the laureate) and a digital copy maintained by the committee for the committee’s records.
From 20 December 2026, if a laureate requests a diploma to be replaced the committee may ask for proof and/or the diploma to be sent to the committee before a warrant is issued.
The committee will not issue a warrant to laureates who have given their diploma away by either:
Gifting; or
Donating; or
Selling; or
Disgarding.
The committee will issue more information if necessary. To contact the committee about this change please do so through the usual channels.
Please advise: EFFECTIVE 20 DECEMBER 2026
